Halloween events for Oakville kids fill the month of October! All month Oakville kids and families can look forward to fun and spooky activities. We have found lots of local Halloween themed parties, festivals, games and more to help make this year scary, fun and memorable for all. And if you are hosting your own party or want to share a spooky snack, we’ve got Halloween recipes that are pretty quick and easy to make.
Children, teens, and even parents, love getting dressed up and pretending to be be something silly, pretty, or scary! Halloween falls on a Saturday this year so there is lots of time to get out and enjoy the holiday. Halloween Events In Oakville
Harvest Festival - October 3 to October 31
Visit Springridge Farm from 10 am – 4 pm for autumn entertainment including wagon rides, a giant corn trail, professional puppet show, spooky Boo Barn and the Fun Farm Yard. Admission is $12 per person (including HST) ages for 2-92.
Haunted Halloween House – Saturday October 3 – Saturday October 31
Get spooked at Solingate Manor! The ghoulish playground is made with children in mind, so nothing in the display will be too frightening. Come nightly in Ocotober from 7 pm to 10 pm. Guests are asked to bring a donation to support the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank.
Ghost Walks – October 15 – October 29
Walk around the oldest part Oakville and hear about some of the Town’s ghosts and haunted happenings. The hour walk is followed by refreshments. Cost is $12 per adult , $6 per child aged 12 or under, and free for infants. Register online to secure your time slot.
Trek or Treat - Friday October 16
Visit St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre for The Trek or Treat Night Trail Run, with a Creepy Mile at 7 pm & 5K Run/Walk at 7:45 pm. Bring your costume and come ready to party! Expect fabulous course displays, face painting, candy stations on the course, hot chocolate, a post-race pizza party and free professional photos of you and your team. Participants are asked to bring a food donation for the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank.
Camper Halloween - October 16/18 & October 23/24
Trick or Treat around the Bronte Creek Campground, where ghosts and goblins will go from site to site instead of door to door. Call to reserve your own site to decorate. Don’t miss a guide walk where you’ll find creepy creatures and hear coyotes howl!
Halloween Spooktacular – Saturday October 17 & Saturday October 24
All ages are invited to explore haunted car barn and ride the creeky rails at the Halton Radial Railway. Then, enjoy some hot apple cider & scary snacks. You’re invited to wear your costume. Event open from 6:30 pm – 10 pm. Admission is $11.50 per person.
Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens for a magical evening on the Pumpkin Trail! Hundreds of jack-o-lanterns will light your way while you enjoy live entertainment, face painting and pumpkin-themed activities. Walks begin every 15 minutes from 6:15 pm to 8:00 pm. Entrance is $40 for family of up to 4, or $15 per individual. RBG Members get 10% off! Register online.
Hotel Pinksylvania – Friday October 23
Pretty in Pink Spa Studio has been transformed! Collect your room key from the zombie bellhops and check on in for an evening of Halloween delight. Enjoy all the hotel amenities like the arts and crafts room where you can design your own mini keepsake coffin. Or visit our onsite spa to participate in the mummy wrap challenge! Frankenstein’s lab offers some gooey touch and feel fun that you won’t find at any other hotel. Order up some room service from our 5 start kitchen! Whip up a mini ghost-mallow trifle or gulf down some eerie purple punch. Get ready for the evening as you mix and melt vampire blood red lip gloss, then head to our ballroom for a skeleton disco dance. $38 per guest, event runs from 6:30 – 8:30PM.
Spooktacular - October 24/25 & October 31/November 1
Visit Mountsberg Conservation Area from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm for lots of Spooktacular activities. The Barn has been transformed into a creepy place to play and explore! Visit the Pumpkin Patch, Pumpkin Discovery Hunt and Pumpkin Maze. Families will also love the face painting, pumpkin carving, bird & snake shows, and the beautiful trails. Don’t forget to wear your costume and receive a free hot drink! Regular admission fees apply.
Zombie Escape – Saturday October 24
Teens (ages 13 – 19) are invited to the Oavkille Y to escape the Zombie Apocalypse! This is a survival game, where participants can play survivors or zombies. Waves run hourly from 8:00 – 10:00 pm. Cost is $10.00 to be a survivor and $15.00 to be a Zombie. This includes game play, makeup (for Zombies), hot dog and drink. All proceeds will be donated to the YMCA Strong Kids initiative.
Mummy Making Workshop- Sunday October 25
Discover the fascinating art of mummy making (ages 8- 12)! Led by a field archaeologist, create protective amulets, wrap a plastic doll’s body and make a mummy case. Each participant will take home their own personalized and finished doll-sized mummy! All materials provided, cost is $10. To reserve your spot call 905-338-4400.
Zombie Apocalypse - Friday October 30
Now’s your chance to be the hero and defend a group of apocalypse survivors! Gather a team of 3 people and join in for $60. A portion of the entrance fee will go to Mississauga Food Bank. If you bring non-perishable food items to the event, you’ll get a bonus! The hunt begins at 6:30pm at the Ontario Centre for Classical Sport. Check the Free Agent Board on the bulletin board across from reception to connect with other solo players.
Tiny Tots On Parade - Friday October 30
Downtown Oakville calls all Trick-or-Treater’s to Towne Square from 10 am – noon on Halloween day. Show off your costume and hit the streets to gather fantastic treats from local merchants.
Halloween Treat Day – Friday October 30
Come down to South Oakville Centre from 6-8pm for Halloween fun.
Halloween Skate – Saturday October 31
Join in from 1:30pm – 3:00pm for a Halloween skate at Canlan Oakville! There will be prizes for best costume, Halloween music and treats and lots of fun. Fee is $1 and all proceeds go to the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre. All skaters must wear a helmet. Sign in upstairs before you skate. Call 905-845-6989 Ext.247 for more details.
Kids Halloween Party – Saturday October 31
The event held at Film.ca cinemas runs from 9:00am-11:30am and the cost is $5 admission per costumed child. All proceeds will go directly to Kerr Street Ministries and CYAN. Games, crafts, and Halloween activities will take place throughout the theatre! Every costumed child gets a Halloween goody bag upon admission. Snack bar will be open during the event.
