While researching for studies and applications to assess children’s learning style, we came across this brilliant testing procedure which has helped phenomenally to determine how kids will perform at their optimum learning potential.
What is it FASTRACKIDS LEARNING POTENTIAL ASSESSMENT?
Based on Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence, the FasTrack® Learning Potential Assessment (FLPA) is an assessment tool that helps parents, teachers and caregivers understand each child’s dominant and lesser-used learning modalities.
How does it work?
The FLPA consists of 28 pairs of black and white images from which a child will choose. Each image represents an activity based on one of the 8 learning intelligences. When finished, this test, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes, will give you result pages that will show each child’s dominant and lesser-used learning.
What are the 8 Intelligences?
- Visual Spatial (Picture Smart)
- Bodily-kinesthetic (Body Smart)
- Musical Rhythmic (Music Smart)
- Verbal Linguistic (Word Smart)
- Logical-mathematical (Logic Smart)
- Interpersonal (People Smart)
- Intrapersonal (Self Smart)
- Naturalistic (Nature Smart)
How does it help your child?
FLPA helps you understand how your child learns and how he / she is smart. This helps you, as a parent AND your child’s primary teacher to be uniquely equipped to offer your child a more engaging learning experience.
